The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a world leader in research, teaching and public service. A proud sponsor of SES 2008, MechSE offers strong research and education programs in both mechanical engineering and theoretical and applied mechanics. It is home to two NSF-funded research centers focused on nanomanufacturing and advanced materials for water purification.

The conference will be held under one roof, at the brand new (2008) I-Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A limited number of guest rooms are available at the I-Hotel on a first-come, first-served basis, at a discounted rate for the SES conference.

All of these hotels are offering a limited number of rooms at discounted rates for the SES conference. These rooms will become available for check-in on October 12 through October 15. Travel
Urbana-Champaign is 135 miles from Chicago, 180 miles from St. Louis and 125 miles from Indianapolis. Champaign's Willard Airport, only ten minutes from the conference site, is served by American Airlines (connections through Chicago or Dallas/Ft. Worth) and Northwest Airlines (connections through Detroit). American Airlines has agreed to offer a 5% discount off the lowest available fares to SES meeting participants flying into Champaign; the discount can be claimed at the time of ticketing using the promotion code A14H8AJ.
