Non-Invasive Diagnostics for Biomechanics

The emphasis of this symposium is to highlight recent developments in biomechanical modeling involving coupling between biomechanics and medical imaging. The goal is to provide the opportunity for the biomechanics community to adopt in vivo quantitative methods for the measurement of displacement, strain, temperature, velocity, diffusion, etc, inside the human body, and for the medical imaging community to appreciate the requirements of the biomechanics community towards describing cell, tissue and whole organ function. Candidate methods are based on medical imaging modalities such as Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Utrasound imaging (US), Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS), etc.
